Kanye Interrupts My Life
A 2009 meme, shipped a decade late.
A resurrected 2008 humor site for me and my friends — submit a moment where life got interrupted, and vote on it.
"Imma let you finish" is the internet's patron saint of interruptions. I wanted a home for that exact feeling — the record-scratch pause when something great gets cut off — and I wanted it to look like it had been sitting on a server since 2010, untouched.
A one-joke site is dead in five seconds unless there's a reason to come back. The gag had to become a machine that keeps making new gags — strangers submitting moments, the crowd rendering a verdict — with no moderators, no budget, and no team.
I built the whole loop: submit an interruption, hit one of two buttons — HOL UP or BEST OF ALL TIME — and the votes sort the wall so the crowd's favorites rise. Then I leaned all the way into the era. The layout, the type, the colors all commit to the bit that it's 2010. The self-awareness is the feature, not the apology.

A dated joke is easy; a full submit-vote-rank community loop that actually works, shipped solo with a committed art direction and a point of view, is the hard part — and it's the same muscle I'd use to build the thing you can't quite get off the ground.
